One hundred years since the beginning of World War One and the tales of horror and heroism are still very much at the forefront of the nation’s conscience.
Countless lives were lost in the conflicts and hundreds of war cemeteries and memorials pepper the fields of France and Belgium in honour of those brave soldiers.
