Day -1:
You make your way to Ypres ( IEPER in the local Flemish language). We can assist you in booking accommodation. My suggestion is that you plan to attend The Last Post at the Menin Gate at 08:00 PM the evening before the tour.
Day 1: 63 km.
We meet in the square of IEPER with the bikes. Start the day tour of the Ypres Salient North and South: 1st, 2nd and 3rd battle of Ypres. Essex farm, Yorkshire Trench, Langemark, Vancouver Corner, St-Julian, ‘sGraventafel NZ Memorial, Tyne Cot Cemetery, Passendale, Polygon Wood, 5th Aus. Division Memorial, Menin Road, Hill 62, Hill 60 and Caterpillar Crater, Messines Ridge, Ploegsteert Wood and Memorial.
Day 2: 70 km.
We ride South of Armentières , Cité Bonjean, VC Corner, The Cobber, Fromelles, Pheasant Wood Cy., The Hitler Bunker, La Bassée, Vermelles, Hill 70, Loos, Lens, Vimy Ridge, Canadian Mt. and visitor center, La Maison Blanche, Rocliincourt, Arras
Day 3: 60 km.
Along the tow path we follow the river Ancre to the intersection with the old Hindenburg Line where we discover the 38thBritish Division Memorial, Monchy-le-Preux Newfoundland Memorial, Riencourt, Bullecourt Australian Memorial , The Digger, Bapaume, Gueudecourt, Flers, Longueval, Bazentin, Pozières: The Windmill
Day 4:
We ride 60 km between the hills and the valley of the Somme. Pozières 1st Australian Division Memorial, Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme, Albert & the Golden Madonna” , Dernancourt, Sailly-le-Sec, 3rd Aus Division Memorial, Corbie, Fouilloy, Villers-Bretonneux Australian Memorial, Victoria School, Aubigny, Camon, Amiens
End the tour at the Amiens railway station where you can catch a train to Paris or book a hotel and visit Amiens at leisure the next day…
